The FMA ACT Branch Committee invite you to join them at The Australian War Memorial for an exclusive site tour on Thursday 27 July 2026 made possible through the generous support of BGIS.
This curated experience will include a guided tour through key operational and display areas, providing insight into the complexity of maintaining and managing a high-profile heritage site that balances preservation, visitor experience, and modern operational demands. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about the intricacies involved in servicing such a unique and nationally significant precinct.
A key highlight of the tour includes viewing the Memorial’s advanced geothermal plant system, recognised as the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, showcasing innovative approaches to energy efficiency and sustainable building operations within a sensitive heritage environment.
The program will also include attendance at the solemn Last Post Ceremony, offering a moment of reflection and remembrance within the Memorial’s daily commemorative tradition.
Following the tour, guests are invited to attend a networking session, providing an opportunity to connect with likeminded others and share their experience of the site tour experience.
