Fires Contained Before Spreading Flames Thanks to Australian AI Technology

Over 90 fires have been quelled thanks to a South Australian-created Artificial Intelligence risk scanning technology.

The smart camera network monitors over a million hectares in the state's Green Triangle, South East, and Limestone Coast.

By sending immediate alerts, small scale fires can be quickly extinguished.

Monitored by the Green Triangle Fire Alliance, each camera sends regular updates and necessary prompts to human controllers, with the eight ultra-high definition cameras able to be 'driven' to overview a 360 degree view of each area.

The system was first rolled out in 2023 with $2.35 million in funding.
