Growth Suburbs Lead EV Uptake

Australia's fast growing outer suburbs are taking up electric vehicles (EV) with leases and government supported discounts driving the trend.

Tarneit and Werribee in Melbourne's west, Marsden Park and Kellyville in the outer reaches of the northern western suburbs of Sydney, and Coombs outside of Canberra have the country's highest rates of recent EV procurement.

Longer commuting times and larger reliance on privately owned vehicles to access amenities, as well as more readily available solar power and parking spaces have encouraged the trend.
