Architects Appointed for Queensland Olympic Stadiums

The new indoor Gold Coast arena and the new Cairns' Barlow Park Stadium upgrade are edging closer, with architectural firms being appointed for both projects.

Australia's Cox Architecture will oversee the Gold Coast build with additional support coming from Danish firm 3XN Architecture.

The 15,000 capacity venue is being led by 'AmplifyGC,' a consortium that includes major infrastructure investment and live music and ticketing companies, as part of a $480 million plan.

In northern Queensland, Barlow Park will be brought into the future by Architectus.

With a completely rebuilt main grandstand and temporary fixtures for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics, the upgrade will see considerable improvements to spectator amenities, media and delegate facilities, and aesthetic improvements.

Built as supporting venues for the upcoming Brisbane Olympic Games, both facilities are part of a legacy plan to future proof Queensland's event capacity.
