The Victorian Government's Cladding Taskforce is calling for FMA members to have their say!

The Victorian Government will establish Cladding Taskforce to address fire risk in buildings

The Victorian Cladding Taskforce will oversee the continuing audit, which began after the Lacrosse Building fire at the Docklands in 2014, and investigations into the extent of non-compliant cladding on Victorian buildings.

The Taskforce will be chaired by former Premier and architect Ted Baillieu, and former Deputy Premier and Minister for Planning John Thwaites.

Minister for Planning Richard Wynne said that the Commonwealth also has a role to play and that they will "keep pushing the Federal Government to better detect non-conforming products entering Australia.”

Co-Chair Ted Baillieu said that non-compliant cladding is a "critical public safety issue".

Key agencies to be involved with the Taskforce are: Worksafe Victoria, the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, the Victorian Building Authority, the Municipal Association of Victoria and Emergency Management Victoria.

The Cladding Taskforce is inviting you to have your say to find out what is the best way to identify vulnerability in buildings promptly. The Taskforce is also asking for your experience to date with cladding, fire risk and ways of managing such matters.
