Spotless announces new CEO

Peter Tompkins, new Spotlight CEO

Spotless recently announced the appointment of Mr Peter Tompkins to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director, effective 15 October 2018, following the resignation of Ms Dana Nelson.

Spotless Chairman Mr John Humphrey thanked Ms Nelson and acknowledged her efforts. “On behalf of the Spotless Board, I thank Dana for her valuable contribution to Spotless over the past eight years and wish her all the best for the future.” Ms Nelson joined Spotless in 2010, became Chief Operating Officer in 2015, and was appointed CEO in August 2017, following the takeover of Spotless by Downer EDI Limited (Downer). Ms Nelson will work with Spotless over the next six months on integration and transition.

Peter Tompkins has been the Downer Group General Counsel and Company Secretary since September 2008. He has been a member of the Downer Executive Committee since 2011 and, for the past year, has led the Downer-Spotless team addressing the various operational and commercial issues at the new Royal Adelaide Hospital.

In his role at Downer, Mr Tompkins demonstrated a wide range of skills, making him a highly valued member of the senior executive team. Given his considerable operational experience, Spotless is confident Mr Tompkins will drive high levels of customer service and performance.

Prior to his 10 years at Downer, Mr Tompkins worked as a Senior Associate at Corrs Chambers Westgarth and a Lawyer at Cridlands MB Lawyers and Rigby Cooke Lawyers. With qualifications in Law and Commerce from Deakin University, Mr Tompkins is an admitted solicitor in New South Wales.
