Resi Strata events: Airbnb, overcrowding & short-term rentals

Our Resi Strata Division recently held two information sessions on Airbnb, overcrowding and short-term rentals. Held in Sydney and Melbourne on 3 and 4 October, these events explored how these issues affect residential buildings, and how facility managers can overcome them.

Speakers addressed a range of issues, including state laws and current regulations around Airbnb, overcrowding and short-term letting. They also provided examples of some of the ways building managers have successfully dealt with these issues.

Both events received good turnouts. The audiences were very engaged, and had the opportunity to chat to speakers and colleagues over networking drinks after the presentations.

The speakers at the Sydney event included Alex Greenwich MP, Independent Member for Sydney, David Bannerman from Bannerman Lawyers, and Murray Cox from Inside Airbnb.

The Melbourne speakers included Gavin Tyler from Mornington Peninsula Council, Tim Graham from HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, and Marshall Delves and Barbara Francis from the We Live Here movement.

These events were sponsored by Express Glass, Kastle Systems, Telstra, Melbourne Building Management and Linkfire.
