FM EDUCATION BENEFITS FROM A DIRECTOR’S REFOCUS

After a long-term commitment to the Facility Management Association, Board Director, Trish Ferrier has decided to step down from the Board to continue her focus on the development of education and training in facilities management.

Since 2001, Trish Ferrier has been an engaged and committed member of the association and was integral in the development of the Diploma of Facilities Management which was initiated in 2009, and the review which has only recently been completed. She is also one of the few members who has received the CFM credential.

Her passion for the industry and commitment to its development through a qualification based program made her an ideal candidate to work at a Board level, ensuring education remained front and centre in the forward strategy of the association.

During her tenure on the Board she managed to provide valuable support to the Victorian Branch Committee, the Education Portfolio Group and was part of the formation of the Diversity Portfolio Group.

In her announcement to the Board that she would not be seeking renomination as a Director when her tenure is completed (in November 2017) she noted, ‘I have evaluated my current situation and feel I will not be able to dedicate the time to fulfilling the role as a Director for a full tenure’, she went on to state, ‘I will continue to be an active participant and supporter of the education and professional development, and will dedicate myself to the work of the Education Portfolio Group’.

The Directors have acknowledged her contribution to the Board during the last two years and are very pleased she will continue to contribute in the education space, where she has a true passion.
