FM Action Agenda

Developed under the Coalition Government (1996-2007), the Facilities Management (FM) Action Agenda aimed to establish the facilities management industry as the foremost contributor to a productive and sustainable built environment through excellent and innovative management of facilities services.

From 2005-2008, the Action Agenda focused on five main areas relating to the industry:

  • Facilities management in the Australian economy
  • Innovation
  • Education & training
  • Regulatory reform
  • Sustainability

In line with the Implementation Board’s wish to ensure that the ideas progress beyond the life of the project and that the intellectual property be preserved, the 2008 transition plan anticipated that the FMA would be the principal future custodian to continue the FM Action Agenda legacy.
