Launch of the FMA's Good Practice Guide
Join us at this complimentary session as we launch the FMA's Good Practice Guide on Energy Management. This guide, which was supported through the Commonwealth Government’s climate solutions funding package, arms professionals with the information and resources needed to achieve more efficient energy outcomes across a range of facilities.
Better energy management delivers a wide range of benefits to businesses and workplaces – from improved comfort and productivity, to reduced operating costs and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The guide can be used by facilities managers and building occupants to assess their energy management outcomes, develop and implement energy management strategies and projects, and assess the cost and benefits of energy management initiatives.

- Purpose of the Good Practice Guide

PRESENTATION: Making a Difference through Energy Management
The Good Practice Guide on Energy Management is designed to help FMs make a difference in the buildings that they manage. This presentation will provide an overview of the guide and how FMs can use it. It will also touch on some of the key actions that FMs can take to accelerate energy management in the buildings that they manage

PRESENTATION: Demand Management Planning: Integrating Buildings into a Renewable Energy GridThe City of Sydney, Better Buildings Partnership has released a new, free, guide to demand management projects, called the Demand Management Planner. Electricity demand forms a large portion of most electricity bills and careful management of demand during peak periods not only cuts the electricity bill it can reduce emissions and contribute to the grid being more resilient during times of stress. The presentation will introduce the Demand Management Planner and the nine steps to successful demand management.

Patrick Crittenden - Sustainable Business Group and author of the Good Practice Guide on Energy Management
Patrick Crittenden is the Director of the Sustainable Business Group. He is an advisor, trainer and facilitator providing services to governments and business on strategies that accelerate corporate sustainability. Patrick’s work on energy management in facilities management includes the development of an energy management competency framework for FMs, the design and facilitation of inhouse and public energy management training and development of the FMA’s Good Practice Guide for Energy Management.
