World FM Day 2009

Friday 28 August 2009 marked the first of what we hope will become an historic occasion for the facility management industry. Events were held across the nation, and indeed across the world, to celebrate this landmark event, which was initiated by FMA Australia and supported by Global FM. During the events, we were able to show attendees video messages from our counterparts around the world, demonstrating the truly global spirit of this new occasion in the FM calendar, one that we hope will be increasingly recognised and celebrated with each year. We were also very pleased to receive several messages from federal and state government representatives, recognising the important contribution that FM makes to the Australian economy and to the environment, and applauding the Association for the work that it is doing to raise the profile of the industry and develop FM training and education programs.
