Through taking a leading advocacy role on behalf of its members, FMA Australia represents the interests of the profession and industry to government and regulatory bodies, encourages the development of university courses in Facilities Management (FM) and promotes the FM profession to senior management and the media, to increase understanding of this important area across business and the wider community.
An important part of FMA Australia's day-to-day activities, advocacy involves meeting with government ministers, representing the organisation at an international level, making submissions, releasing policy documents, sitting on external committees and participating in industry, government and academic working parties.
Members and staff undertaking advocacy activities ensure members' views are heard at the highest levels.
We value your ideas and welcome your participation in policy development and submissions to government. FMA Australia policy positions are formulated through member Special Interest Groups (SIG), National Committees, input from Branch Committee and governance.
If there is a policy issue you believe FMA Australia should raise with government or another organisation, please contact the FMA Australia office by email
