Held in Sydney at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on stunning Darling Harbour, from the 9 to 11 May, ideaction 2007 hosted a record number of national and international delegates.
Wednesday, 9 May, saw a variety of very interesting site visits to the Optus Campus, Taronga Park Zoo, the University of Sydney and Telstra Stadium during the day. In the evening delegates were treated to amazing views over Darling Harbour and a chance to try their luck at the tables at the casino-themed Chairman's Welcome Reception. The Welcome Reception took place at the Star Room on Cockle Bay and guests were welcomed to ideaction 2007 by Andrew McEwan, FMA Australia Chair.
Thursday, 10 May, was the first day of presentations, which included the very popular PPP's panel session. The exhibition also opened and, with twice as many exhibitors as in 2006, provided another source of interest for the ideaction delegates. On Thursday night more than 500 people enjoyed a fantastic night of entertainment at the annual Gala Dinner, held in the impressive Sydney Town Hall. Guests were welcomed by a stunning performance of Phantom of the Opera on the Town Hall organ. As well as a mouth-watering dinner, a great MC, a DJ and bit of dancing, the Gala dinner featured the announcements of the winners of the Awards for Excellence and FMA Australia Recognition Awards.
On Friday, 11 May, the second day of presentations took place, as well as the second day of the exhibition. As on the Thursday, the speakers on the Friday were informative and engaging, culminating in the excellent final presentation by Peter Verwer, CEO of the Property Council of Australia, discussing a vision for the next FM industry and property business revolution. The conference concluded on the Friday afternoon with the Closing Reception in the Bayside Gallery of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
